Busyness v/s fruitfulness
Is it something new to you?? Well, I will try to share with you in a few paragraphs what I wrote in my prayer book and notes. I hope you will not be overwhelmed but instead be encouraged.
During those times (Oct06-Jan07), I came across this teaching that make me evaluate my life here in Hong Kong. Indeed Hong Kong is a place where you would see "busyness" in action. And no doubt, you'll see it in people in the workplace and sadly in people in the "ministry".
It was something that I felt strongly in my spirit when I arrived in Hong Kong and was trying to pinpoint the sense of my uneasiness. And God, in His faithfulness and grace, reveals to me this point of 'busyness v/s fruitfulness' that clarifies and confirms my thoughts through this teaching and most recently through a prophetic sharing.
God mentions in His Word right from the beginning in the book of Genesis (Gen 8:17, 9:1, 9:7) "to be fruitful"
And so we are not to confuse busyness with fruitfulness says the Lord! What a good reminder to me..
I was reminded of being a good steward of my energy and not to be manipulated by demands.
And so, I had to ask myself this question, 'Have I been busy and not being fruitful?'
After this revelation of being fruitful, I ask the LORD to lead and teach me how to be fruitful in my relationship, work and ministry.
Later in my personal devotion with HIM, He led me in this passage of John 15:1-8
"Do you want to bear fruit?? Then abide in ME!"
----------------------------
After this revelation, I learned to channel my energy:
-to stay devoted in spending quality time with HIM.
-to prioritise my time and learn to rest in HIM at ALL time.
- to stay devoted to my purpose and calling (that is teaching and ministering to children and young adult)
-to serve and help people and friends in ways that would be honouring to HIM.
While God was reminding me about priorities through this teaching, my church was starting this discipleship course called the Cleansing Streams Seminar. I was convicted to take up this course. It started in mid-February and will end in 2 weeks time! I have to testify that I am immensely blessed by this seminar and God is really working in my life, pruning me :) ouch! But it is worth.

SO despite Hong Kong being a place a busyness!
I am convinced and determined in coming in the opposite spirit (as one teacher from YWAM will put it) while doing God's business - AMEN!
I am even more passionate and enthusiastic in teaching here in Hong Kong.
This school year, our class consists mainly of children of Chinese ethnicity and whose parents are non-Christian.
It is a great mission field- a bunch of 4-5 years old children-hungry and curious to know who Jesus is! No kidding!
I have 8 boys that keep my partner and I on our toes! And 3 (thank God) beautiful girls.

"Taste of culture"
Sharing with my children about my homeland-Mauritius!
We all came in our traditional costume.
My traditional costume? Well I almost wanted to wear my bikinis! Just a joke.
The weather did not permit that and I was too shy.heehee
Recently, we accepted a new boy who was "put aside" in his previous kindergarten. He was termed as being a disruptive boy with some challenging behaviour. The parents had to transfer him. After observing him and through prayer, my partner and I decided to take him in our class- it was the time when we were doing the unit on Easter.
He was so interested in our lesson time- to the point that when it was "book time", the student will have the choice to look at a book, he will take the children's bible and ask us "Where is Jesus?"
Children's ministry at the local church
The toddlers' class in the local English speaking church is doing well. After six months, we are seeing how much the three little toddlers are learning from the Word of God. One mum says that her girl who had a bad experience in a previous Sunday school class, is now very excited to come and join us.
To me, it is encouraging and worth making the trip to the local church after attending my 1st service in my own church and teach there…I am starting to see some fruit after starting the new class six months ago.
Ever since we started the class, the pastor of the English congregation had to turn down a few parents from their main service (conducted in Cantonese). They heard of this new Sunday school and wanted to put their child in our class. However our purpose was to serve the parents who are attending the English ministry of this church. It was a tough decision to make.

Alpha course in…French!
In January, my church which is an international church consists of some Asylum seekers from Africa- the French speaking part.
The Alpha people were asking for helpers and ..well after consideration, I decided to help out in facilitating the course that was conducted in French- at some time I had to lead the group discussion in French and also be the translator for the Alpha director during ministry time. It was a blessed time that I had with them from January to mid-April.
Here are some of the African brothers mingling and dancing with my students. I invited them to come during the "Taste of culture" and shared about Africa.

Once again, thank you for reading my blog!
I will share more in the near future as He leads me to.
